FANTASY MVP

1. Chris Johnson- 2006 Ru Yds, 14 TD, 50 Rec, 503 Yds, 2 TD
Silky Johnson decimated the planet while blazing by defenses like a 10-second car all season long.  The martian hulk made professionals look like children en route to 2509 total yards from scrimmage, breaking Marshall Faulk’s single-season mark of 2429.  Plus Silky J became only the sixth player all-time to hit 2K rushing yards.  We all knew Johnson was talented but I don’t think anyone expected numbers of historic proportions.  Cheers to you if you drafted him, especially if you selected him over Steve Slaton.

2. Aaron Rodgers- 4434 Yds, 30 TD, 7 INT, 5 Ru TD
3. Adrian Peterson- 1383 Ru Yds, 18 TD, 43 Rec, 436 Yds/
    Maurice Jones-Drew- 1391 Ru Yds, 15 TD, 53 Rec, 374 Yds, TD

BIGGEST BUST

1. Matt Forte- 929 Ru Yds/  4 TDs/ 57 Rec/ 471 Rec Yards
One could argue that Slaton was a bigger bust, but Forte had a higher average draft position, not to mention, Forte was rarely picked to be a bust during preseason.  I don’t think anybody thought the Bears O-line would be any worse than last year, where Forte thrived in 2008. Not to mention, the Cutler addition, which was obviously an upgrade over Orton, was no help for Forte’s production.  Sometimes shit happens in fantasy.  This is just one example.

2. Steve Slaton-  437 Ru Yds/ 3 TDs/ 44 Rec/ 417 Rec Yds/ 4 TD
3. Calvin Johnson- 67 Rec/ 984 Yds/ 5 TDs

BEST DRAFT VALUE

1. Ray Rice- ADP 5.8
Ended up as the forth best fantasy running back in the league, and imagine if he just received half of Willis McGahee’s TDs.  That would give him 15 TDs instead of 8, which would place him ahead of Adrian Peterson and MJD.  Rice was the No. 1 bargain of the year even with a relatively steep fifth round price tag.

2. Brett Favre- 11.10
3. Steve Smith (NYG)- ADP 12.4

WORST DRAFT VALUE

1. Dwayne Bowe- 47 Rec, 589 Yds, 4 TD
Bowe is a talented target hog but Bozo Syndrome, including a four-game suspension for performance enhancers, killed his chances to live up to his 3rd round WR1 draft slot.  Now he might come at a discount in fantasy next season and we'll gladly pick him at the right price.

2. Marshawn Lynch- 450 Ru Yds, 2 TD, 28 Rec, 179 Yds
3. Antonio Bryant- 39 Rec, 600 Yds, 4 TD

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

1. Knowshon Moreno- 947 Yds, 7 TD, 28 Rec, 213 Yds, 2 TD
I originally placed Percy Harvin No. 1 here, but then I checked Moreno’s stats.  I guess I didn’t realize he quietly finished with nine touchdowns and nearly 1000 rushing yards.  He had a strong second half of the season and we like him next year for sure.  Enough said.

2. Percy Harvin- 60 Rec, 790 Yds, 6 TD, 2 Kick Ret TD
3. Beanie Wells- 793 Yds, 7 TD, 12 Rec, 143 Yds

WAIVER WONDER OF THE YEAR

1. Miles Austin- 81 Rec, 1320 Yds, 11 TD
We love Austin unconditionally and so does Tony Romo.  Stin is a legit beast.  We predicted his breakout before the season AND we called his ‘hello world’ 250 yard, 3 TD-game vs. KC the week before it happened.  Check it out!  It’s a good thing he didn’t do jack the first four weeks of the season, giving fantasy hulks like me a chance to happily scoop him up off the waiver for nothing!  They say the best things in life are free.

2. Jamaal Charles- 1120 Ru Yds, 7 TD, 40 Rec, 297 Yds, TD, 1 Kick Ret TD
3. Vernon Davis- 78 Rec, 965 Yds, 13 TD/
Sidney Rice- 83 Rec, 1312 Yds, 8 TD

MR. CONSISTENT

1. Chris Johnson- 13 Games w/over 10 fantasy points
After Johnson’s Week 2 explosion vs. Houston, it was cruise control the rest of the year.  Silky had a remarkable 11 straight 100-yard rushing games to end the season.  As a fantasy owner, if you faced Johnson, you knew you weren’t going to maybe “get away with one” that week.  You knew he was going to put up points, you just prayed he wasn’t going to blow doors off.

2. Peyton Manning- At least 17 fantasy points every week until Weeks 16 and 17
3. Ray Rice- 13 Games w/over 10 fantasy points

 CONSISTENTLY UNDERAPPRECIATED

1. Thomas Jones- 1402 Yds, 14 TD, 10 Rec, 58 Yds
Is this guy serious?  On the wrong side of 30 with a rookie quarterback and a rookie stud RB waiting in the wings, T. Jones just had the most impressive season of his 10-year career.  That’s 27 touchdowns over the past two seasons combined.  At 31, his freshness can be attributed to his physical fitness and small workload in his first handful of seasons in the league.  With that said, I wouldn’t bet my chips on a repeat performance next year.  The end is near.

2. Eli Manning- 4021 Yds, 27 TD, 14 INT
3. Joseph Addai- 828 Ru Yds, 10 TD, 51 Rec, 336 Yds, 3 TD

FANTASY PLAYOFF MVP

1. Chris Johnson- 363 Ru Yds/ 3 TDs/ 8 Rec/ 161 Rec Yds/ 1 TD
Johnson had no less than 159 total yards in any game during weeks 14-16. He also scored 4 touchdowns during that span.  Basically, did exactly what he did all year.  I will say that if your fantasy league’s playoffs were during weeks 15-17, Jerome Harrison would take the belt. He scored 5 TDs and racked up a dominating 561 total yards.

2. Adrian Peterson- 226 Ru Yds/ 5 TDs/ 9 Rec/ 156 Yds
3. Jerome Harrison- 443 Ru Yds/ 4 TDs/ 4 Rec/ 22 Yds

2ND HALF COLLAPSE

1. DeAngelo Williams  1st Half- 953 Total Yards/ 7TDs   2nd Half- 577 Total Yds/ 2 TDs
Through the first eight games, Deang looked like a real smart first round selection and for a moment there, he was a candidate for a top 3-5 RB finish.  But after a Week 9, 149 Rushing Yard, 2 TD performance, Deangelo never scored again, missed two games, and only put up one 100-yard rushing performance.

2. Cedric Benson   1st Half- 903 Total Yards/ 6 TDs   2nd Half- 576 Total Yds/ 1 TD
3. Michael Turner   1st Half- 755 Total Yards/ 10 TDs   2nd Half- 331 Total Yds/ 2 TD

FANTASY PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

1. Chris Johnson- Week 2:  197 Ru Yds/ 2 TDs/ 9 Rec/ 87 Rec Yds/ 1 TD
Watching highlights from this game just made your jaw drop.  All three TDs were over 50 yards, including one TD run that went for 91 yards.  He managed to pick up 9 receptions too.  Everyone knew what was in store the rest of the year.

2. Tom Brady- Week 6: 380 Pa Yds/ 6 TDs
3. Jerome Harrison- Week 16:  286 Ru Yds/ 3 TDs/ 2 Rec/ 12 Rec Yds

BIGGEST INJURY IMPACT

1. Brian Westbrook (Missed 9 games)
As expected, the 30-year old injury-plagued Westbrook’s wheels began to fall off this season after two career-threatening concussions.  As a result, Westy was limited to only seven games in which he didn’t do a damn thing.  Even worse, his handcuff LeSean McCoy didn’t quite explode like we expected.  We still like McCoy next season in the explosive Philly offense.  The same can’t be said for Westbrook, whether he returns to play or not.

2. Clinton Portis (Missed 8 games)
3. Anthony Gonzalez (Missed entire season)
