Mr. Monday Morning: Week 14
Vince Bavaro
12/14/09

Boss of the Week: Brandon Marshall- 21 Rec, 200 Yds, 2 TD

Marshall aka Baby T.O. dominated the Colts Sunday, breaking Terrell Owens’ single-game receptions record with 21 catches.  This was a loud performance from Marshall in an otherwise quietly productive season.  He sits at 86 receptions, 1006 yards, and nine touchdowns, putting him on pace for 106/1240/11.  Pretty hulky, I’d say.

Weakest of the Week: Randy Moss- 1 Rec, 16 Yds, Fum lost

WTF brah!  Stop being a b!tch hulk.

Week 14 Hulks A few top performers this week

Chris “Silky” Johnson put up 186 total yards and three touchdowns against St. Louis, which is nothing new from the martian.  Like Puff Daddy, he can’t stop, won’t stop.  On a side note, it’s funny how LenDale White is a non-factor this season, despite his contract year hype.  He didn’t receive any touches Sunday.

Andre “The Giant” Johnson (lol that sounds funny when you read it) hauled in 11 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle.  The most talented receiver in the NFL now has eight touchdowns, which ties his career-high.

Ray Rice slayed Detroit, as expected.  He blew up for 166 rushing yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, good for 12.8 yards per carry.  He also added 53 yards on four catches.   I’ll take this opportunity to remind you that Rice was our No. 1 sleeper going into the season.

Dallas Clark brought a smile to his fantasy owners’ faces, as he scored his sixth, seventh, and eighth touchdowns Sunday.  Clark blew up in a big way and I feel for anyone who had to face him this week like I did in one league.  Clark’s production grinds my gears since I’m not an advocate of reaching for him on draft day, not to mention he’s only going extra nuts because Anthony Gonzalez is injured.

While Aaron Rodgers struggled, Ryan Grant came up big in Chicago, rushing 20 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns.  One of Grant’s TDs was a 62-yarder, his longest run since his breakout 2007 season.  Sunday’s performance put him over 1000 yards and at seven touchdowns, which is straight for a RB2.

Week 14 Abominations A few major disappointments

Steven Jackson- 19 Att, 47 Yds, 2 Rec, 6 Yds … Rams got owned.  S. Jax showed heart playing hurt though
Marion Barber- 14 Att, 47 Yds, 2 Rec, 22 Yds … Hasn’t scored since Week 8.  Stuck at four TDs on the year
Calvin Johnson- 4 Rec, 37 Yds … Blah
Reggie Wayne- 4 Rec, 43 Yds … D. Clark stole the show.  Wayne is due to explode next week
Aaron Rodgers- 180 Yds, Fum lost … Apparently he’s human
Ben Roethlisberger- 201 Yds … Ugly performance in an ugly game

Way to Step Up

Jamaal Charles shredded the easy Buffalo run defense for 143 yards a touchdown.  He’s now scored in five straight games.  Stick with J-Chuck next week versus Cleveland because he is a hulk.

The Redskins have been putting up points lately and Quinton Ganther exposed Oakland for two touchdowns.  The job remains his against the Giants next week but he’s still a bit risky considering the element of the unknown still looms and it’s the fantasy playoffs.  I have a hard time trusting him as anything more than flex in Week 15.

Fred Davis also scored twice Sunday.  He is so legit.  Keep playing him.  He has five TDs in the seven games Chris Cooley has been out and I noticed he was available in some leagues yesterday!

Fred Jackson gained 122 total yards on 23 touches, continuing to show that he is most effective Buffalo running back.  Marshawn Lynch only received 14 touches.  Jackson is an RB2/flex option against NE next week.

Sunday Night Football One Liners Eagles at Giants

There’s nothing fraction about Jackson (DeSean).

Unstoppable… Eli Manning is…

Hakeem Nicks is a bad ass rookie hulk.
